Runt en ung stj\u00e4rna, kallad\u00a0<strong>HOPS\u2011315<\/strong>, cirka 1 300 ljus\u00e5r fr\u00e5n jorden, har man observerat hur de f\u00f6rsta fasta partiklarna, byggstenarna till framtida planeter, just b\u00f6rjat bildas. Det \u00e4r ett s\u00e4llsynt och banbrytande \u00f6gonblick inom astronomin.<br><br><strong>En ung stj\u00e4rna i utveckling<\/strong><br>HOPS\u2011315 befinner sig i stj\u00e4rnbilden Orion och \u00e4r en s\u00e5 kallad protostj\u00e4rna \u2013 en stj\u00e4rna som fortfarande h\u00e5ller p\u00e5 att samla in material fr\u00e5n det gas- och stoftmoln den f\u00f6tts ur. Den uppskattas vara mellan 100\u202f000 och 200\u202f000 \u00e5r gammal, vilket \u00e4r mycket tidigt i en stj\u00e4rnas livscykel. Det forskarna nu har kunnat se \u00e4r hur silikatpartiklar, allts\u00e5 kristalliserade mineraler, b\u00f6rjar bildas i skivans innersta och varmaste delar. McClure et al.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>En teknisk och vetenskaplig prestation<\/strong><br>Uppt\u00e4ckten har gjorts m\u00f6jlig genom kombinerade observationer fr\u00e5n tv\u00e5 av v\u00e4rldens mest avancerade teleskop:&nbsp;<strong>James Webb Space Telescope (JWST)<\/strong>&nbsp;och&nbsp;<strong>ALMA-observatoriet<\/strong>&nbsp;i Chile. Webb-teleskopet \u00e4r k\u00e4nsligt f\u00f6r infrar\u00f6tt ljus och kan se genom det stoft som annars d\u00f6ljer stj\u00e4rnans inre omr\u00e5den. ALMA kan samtidigt observera kallare gasstrukturer i radiov\u00e5gor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tillsammans gjorde dessa instrument det m\u00f6jligt att uppt\u00e4cka hur varm gas, s\u00e4rskilt molekyler som kiselmonoxid (SiO), b\u00f6rjat kondensera till fasta silikatkristaller. Det \u00e4r allts\u00e5 en kemisk och fysisk process som markerar b\u00f6rjan p\u00e5 planetbildningen.<br><br><strong>Varf\u00f6r \u00e4r detta viktigt?<\/strong><br>Denna observation \u00e4r den tidigaste bekr\u00e4ftelsen p\u00e5 att fast materia, vilket \u00e4r grunden till stenar, asteroider och i slut\u00e4ndan planeter som b\u00f6rjar bildas runt en annan stj\u00e4rna. Tidigare har forskare studerat planetbildning i mer utvecklade skivor, men det h\u00e4r \u00e4r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen man f\u00e5ngat den inledande fasen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uppt\u00e4ckten ger forskarna en m\u00f6jlighet att b\u00e4ttre f\u00f6rst\u00e5 hur vanliga planetsystem som v\u00e5rt eget egentligen \u00e4r i universum. Den visar ocks\u00e5 att processen med att skapa planeter b\u00f6rjar mycket tidigare \u00e4n man tidigare kunnat bekr\u00e4fta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Likheter med v\u00e5rt solsystem<\/strong><br>Det som h\u00e4nder runt HOPS\u2011315 p\u00e5minner i mycket om vad som troligen h\u00e4nde n\u00e4r v\u00e5rt eget solsystem b\u00f6rjade ta form. De mineraler man nu ser bildas \u00e5terfinns i vissa typer av meteoriter h\u00e4r p\u00e5 jorden, som bevarar rester av solsystemets barndom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Det omr\u00e5de d\u00e4r kristallerna bildas i HOPS\u2011315:s skiva motsvarar ungef\u00e4r avst\u00e5ndet fr\u00e5n solen till asteroidb\u00e4ltet i v\u00e5rt eget system. Det \u00e4r allts\u00e5 i den region d\u00e4r m\u00e5nga stenplaneter och asteroider tros ha sitt ursprung.<br><br><strong>Ett f\u00f6nster mot v\u00e5rt kosmiska ursprung<\/strong><br>Att vi nu kan studera hur ett nytt solsystem f\u00f6ds ger oss inte bara insikter om andra v\u00e4rldar, men det kastar ocks\u00e5 nytt ljus \u00f6ver v\u00e5r egen historia. Vi vet nu lite mer om hur det s\u00e5g ut n\u00e4r jorden, solen och resten av v\u00e5rt planetsystem b\u00f6rjade ta form f\u00f6r miljarder \u00e5r sedan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Och det mest fascinerande \u00e4r kanske detta: HOPS\u2011315 \u00e4r bara ett av otaliga exempel p\u00e5 unga stj\u00e4rnor d\u00e4r nya v\u00e4rldar just nu h\u00e5ller p\u00e5 att v\u00e4xa fram.
