Denna unika satellit, ett samarbete mellan Kyoto universitet och Sumitomo Forestry, utg\u00f6r ett nytt steg mot h\u00e5llbar rymdteknik. Den \u00e4r tillverkad av magnoliatr\u00e4, ett nedbrytbart material som erbjuder stora milj\u00f6f\u00f6rdelar j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med traditionella material som aluminium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Varf\u00f6r Tr\u00e4 i Rymden?<\/strong><br>Att anv\u00e4nda tr\u00e4 ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r aluminium eller andra metaller f\u00f6r satelliter har flera f\u00f6rdelar. Tr\u00e4material \u00e4r biologiskt nedbrytbart och skapar inga skadliga rester n\u00e4r satelliten brinner upp vid \u00e5terintr\u00e4de i jordens atmosf\u00e4r. Vanliga satelliter frig\u00f6r sm\u00e5 aluminiumpartiklar som kan p\u00e5verka jordens atmosf\u00e4r negativt, vilket g\u00f6r tr\u00e4 till ett intressant alternativ f\u00f6r att minska milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan fr\u00e5n rymdskrot.<br><br><strong>S\u00e5 ska LignoSat Testas i Rymden<\/strong><br>LignoSat kommer inom kort att s\u00e4ttas i omloppsbana fr\u00e5n ISS, d\u00e4r den kommer att uts\u00e4ttas f\u00f6r rymdens extrema temperaturer, vakuum och str\u00e5lning. Sensorer ombord ska m\u00e4ta tr\u00e4ets motst\u00e5ndskraft mot dessa f\u00f6rh\u00e5llanden. Magnoliatr\u00e4 valdes f\u00f6r sina starka och l\u00e4tta egenskaper, men detta blir f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen tr\u00e4 testas i en s\u00e5 extrem milj\u00f6. Redan idag finns \u00f6ver 30 000 objekt st\u00f6rre \u00e4n 10 cm i omloppsbana kring jorden, och dessa utg\u00f6r en potentiell fara f\u00f6r andra satelliter och bemannade rymdfarkoster.
